Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology Visits the University of Tokyo and Meets the NEXUS Team

On October 2, 2026, H.E. Prof. Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam, visited the University of Tokyo as part of his official working visit to Japan.

Following discussions with the University’s leadership, Minister Quan met members of the UTokyo–Vietnam NEXUS team and Vietnamese students currently conducting research at UTokyo. The meeting highlighted ongoing cooperation in semiconductor research and human-resource development, including joint research, doctoral education, internships, and exchanges of young researchers between Japan and Vietnam.

Minister Quan encouraged the students to make full use of their research opportunities in Japan and contribute to the future development of Vietnam’s science, technology, and semiconductor sectors.

The visit provided valuable encouragement to the students and reinforced the shared commitment of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the University of Tokyo to developing highly skilled researchers and strengthening long-term Japan–Vietnam cooperation in strategic technologies.
